Our "Country Home"

I just finished reading the last issue of Country Home, and with sadness I close the magazine. I have to wonder if this is the end of just another magazine or perhaps the end of an era? Almost 10 years ago I opened my shop and "country" was a big part of my purchasing decisions. I wanted my store to have a feeling of classic, casual comfort - using antiques to decorate a cottage or cabin or home. What direction are we headed now? Antiques, collectibles and vintage seem an answer to me at a time when "green" is such a part of our lives and economy is everything. What do you think?

Olive Rue Award

I would like to thank Kathleen from Musings from a French Cottage, and Olive Rue for the "Fabulous Finds " award. This award is for people like us who love to search out wonderful things for our shops and our homes. Recently, Olive Rue had a really neat post on Vintage Weave - A retail store in California! Check out both their Blogs for super pics! At this time I would like to nominate Theresa, Garden Antqs Vintage, for this Award! Theresa always "Finds" the neatest shops to show on her Blog!

Old Letters and Books

Have you seen the movie UNFAITHFUL? Paul Martel's bookstore in the movie is one of my favorite sets ... old French musty books and artwork - fine design!
